General Sales Co., (Pvt) Ltd (GESCO) was established on 21 st September 1977 as a Limited liability Company with an authorized share capital of Rs. 200,000/= and a paid up capital of Rs. 200,000/= and it ventured into business operations as a trading and indenting company at “Ceylinco House “ the tallest building in Colombo at that time, occupying approximately 5000 sq ft with 25 employees. As Sole Agents in Sri Lanka for Hager Electro AG of France it markets their range of products such as trip switches, main switches MCCBs, RCCBs, Enclosures etc. The said products are sold to the high end of the market and we are happy to state that we have been maintaining market leadership in the past few years.
Moreover, Electrical Modular Systems from Hager – France is considered the undisputed Market Leader in the local market for the past few years despite its premium price.
One of the business functions of the Electrical Division is to design and fabricate electrical control switch gear and motor control centers for specific customer requirements. The said control panels are fabricated using internationally reputed electrical components. The fabrication is carried out in an ISO Certified State of the Art Workshop which includes modern testing facilities.
HENDERSON PRODUCTS
Henderson of UK is considered the 'Rolls Royce' of sliding doors / Folding door gear and has been trusted by many renowned architects and Civil Contractors on their contract which involves large joinery applications.
The Nation's lighting requirements have been met by EYE brand lamps and fixtures made by Iwasaki Electric Company of Japan and Westinghouse of UAE. EYE brand consists of sodium and mercury vapor and halogen lamps Manufactured by Evasaki Electronic Co Ltd of Japan. The said lamps are the most popular lighting systems used in a wide range of industrial and non – industrial projects.

The GESCO water division specializes in the supply and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment for water and waste water treatment projects of medium and large scale.
The GESCO water division exclusively represents some of the internationally renowned products such as LOWARA pumps from Italy In addition, the Division also has a fully equipped mechanical service workshop and a ISO9001 certified electrical panel fabrication workshop facility. The division is managed by a team of professionally qualified engineers and has successfully completed a number of projects of varying magnitudes for the National Water Supply and Drainage Board and Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, etc.
TEKA is a quality certified ISO 9001 internationally reputed group of companies in Spain represented by GESCO to market its range of products such as bath room mixers, sink mixers and shower sets in Sri Lanka.
This division is involved in the import and supply of communication equipment such as dual channel links, multi channel links, and rechargeable batteries for military communication equipment, Shoes & Boots, Wire Concertina and Special Equipment Spare Parts. The Division markets its products to the three armed forces, Sri Lanka Police & Sri Lanka Civil Security Department.
